Rev. Suzanne Mulkin

Suzanne came to us in the Fall of 2008 retiring after 30 years of working for the Polk County School Board. She spent 26 of her 30 years at Haines City High School. During those years she spent her time working in the classroom, Media Center, and as a computer lab manager.

Before moving to Florida she attended Barrington College where she received her BA Degree in Christian Education and Biblical Studies. After serving a few years as a Director of Christian Education, she applied, and was accepted to be in the first class of the National Institute for Lay Training which laid the ground work for her diaconal training and studies, especially in the area of pastoral care and hospital visitations.

Suzanne was ordained to the Diaconate in December 1999 and has served in parishes in the Diocese until she was called to Good Shepherd.

As part of Suzanne's duties at Good Shepherd she serves in the Liturgy as Deacon and preaches. She visits the hospital and nursing homes on a regular basis, taking Holy Communion to the sick and shut-in. She is a volunteer chaplain at Lake Wales Medical Center where she visits those who have requested a clergy visit, and visits each of the floors, and checks in the with nursing staff for anyone requesting a clergy visit. She also works a shift at the Thrift Store speaking with customers and assisting them.
