Elaine McKinstry is director of the adult and youth handbells. She also substitutes as church organist when needed. McKinstry said her husband was raised an Episcopalian, and they began attending Good Shepherd when they moved to Lake Wales in 1966.

“I became the organist a few years after that and then also became the choir director years later,” she says. McKinstry retired two years ago from the position. “I have always liked the warmth and sincerity of the congregation at Good Shepherd, and I consider them a very close family,” she adds. McKinstry also attended the DOCC program for several years.
