We welcome volunteers to help make our safari a success! Please call the office at 676-8578 to let us know you'd like to help. We can't wait to jump to the jungle beat!

Several parishioners asked for Chip Thullbery's recipe for the delicious ham strata that was served on Rally Sunday.
1/2 pound sliced ham, cut into small squares
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
6 slices white bread, crusts removed
1 tsp. Dijon mustard
2 cups half & half
1/2 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
Paprika (optional, for color)
Place bread in single layer on bottom of casserole dish. Stir together ham and mustard and sprinkle evenly over bread. Sprinkle shredded cheese over ham. Beat together eggs, half & half, salt, and pepper. Pour over cheese. Sprinkle paprika over top (optional) for color. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until set. Serves 8.

What a story we read today! Even if we ignore its spiritual elements (that is, if we were to gut the story!) the events of Christ’s last week alone, record a magnificent narrative. As N.T. Wright suggests: “The whole drama swirls to and fro with friendship betrayed, new worlds evoked, justice denied, empire appeased, faith insulted, innocence abused.” Read simply as a narrative, Christ’s passion is a masterpiece (pun intended!) and the plot alone qualifies (on a solely technical arc) as the greatest story ever told. Who isn’t captivated hearing this unique narrative?

We will celebrate our high school and college graduates and honor our volunteers. If your high school or college son, daughter, granddaughter, etc. is graduating this year, please contact the church office to let us know. We do not want to leave anyone out! This is the first summer service at 9:30 AM. Following the service, we will enjoy a delicious complimentary picnic across the street under the tent. Addy Willette is coordinating our picnic for the first time this year; please let Addy or the church office know if you would like to assist her. Everyone is welcome!
